Another Swine-Flu suspect treated at Shija Hospital

IMPHAL, April 18: After a lull in the reports of swine flu infection for 14 days, a patient showing symptoms of the disease has been admitted at Shija Hospitals today evening at around 4 pm. His swab test will be sent to Ranbaxy Mumbai tomorrow for further confirmation.

The person is said to be a frequent traveller and as such is suspected to have contracted the disease from outside, according to medical expert views.

It may be mentioned that the first case of swine flu in the state was officially confirmed on March 5 last and so far till April 4, there has been reports of 17 suspected persons being treated for the disease altogether. The death toll is still recorded at 2 persons and another 3 persons who have been confirmed has been treated and completely cured. Out of the total, 12 reports have been negative. This case is the 18th one awaiting confirmation.
