IMPHAL, Apr 25: The Democratic Students`™ Alliance of Manipur has today appealed to all concerned for resumption of emergency and OPD services in the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences during a press meet held at their office. DESAM, president Moirangthem Angamba urged the State government to consider the demands of the agitating Teachers`™ Association, JNIMS and bring an amicable settlement as soon as possible to end the impasse.

The ongoing cease work strike has led to public inconvenience for both in-house patients and people coming from far flung areas for medical treatment, he said.

Their demands might be genuine yet a cease work strike cannot be justified as it is denying even emergency services to patients, hence, we urged the agitating doctors to consider other options of protest and humbly appeal for resumption of work on humanitarian ground, he said.

We are also apprehensive about the government`™s apathy to the demands of the Nurses Association TNAI, JNIMS Unit till date, despite the lapse of their five days deadline, he said and appeal to the Government to settle the issue without further delay.
