Drug peddlers to be banished from locality

IMPHAL, April 7: As part of their measure to wipe out drugs from the society, members of YPWA Club, Sangaiyumpham Part I Mairelkhul in Thoubal district carried out an anti-drug drive today and nabbed four individuals who were found using highly sedative heroin from near Mangi Salam waiting shed.

They were later handed over to Anjuman Falahi-I-Bashar, Sangaiyumpham.

The four persons are identified as Md Faya Achouba, 40 son of Md Ahmed Ali of Sangaiyumpham Part I Salam Macha; O Tokenjit, 21 son of O Ibomcha of Thoubal Okram Mayai Leirak; M Dipin, 23 son of M Kumar of Wangjing Awang Leikai and N Rabi, 21 son of N Mangijao.

Six pieces of heroin were found from their possession.

A statement from Anjuman Falahi-I-Bashar claimed that the drug was supplied to them by one Md Ibocha son of Late Md Rafi of Sangaiyumpham Part I. He used Md Faya Achouba as one of his drug suppliers.

A decision has been taken to banish Md Faya Achou and Md Ibocha from the locality for seven years for their involvement in drug business, the statement stated.
