Two Tata Tippers used in railway construction set ablaze

IMPHAL, Apr 15: Unidentified miscreants torched two Tata Tipper used in the construction of Jiribam-Tupul Railway Line at a place adjoining Awangkhul and Rangkhung along NH-37 around 9 km from Noney Police Station in Tamenglong district on April 14 around 6.50 pm.

Police sources said the unidentified persons using axe broke the oil tankers of the vehicles and later set ablaze. On receiving the news, a team of police rushed to the area and found the two trucks completely burnt down.

The two vehicles belong to M/S Triveni Infra Private Limited and M/S Sushe Company entrusted with the construction of the railway line.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

It may be mentioned that the Joint Action Committee of All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers`™ Association (AMHDCBTA) had imposed ban on all the national projects including the railway construction in pursuit of their demands.
