IMPHAL, May 4: Atleast 24 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the June 1 Autonomous District Council election in the State till today, according to a reliable source from the State Election Commission.
The source said since the official notification was issued on April 30, the candidates have filed their nomination papers to their concern DC or SDCs.
According to the source, four candidates have filed their nomination in Sadar Hills, 17 in Chandel and one in Churachandpur today.
Two others have already filed their nomination in at Machi and Tengnoupal blocks of Chandel district on May 2.
It may be mentioned that the last date for filing of nomination papers is May 6 with Many 7 scheduled for scrutiny of nomination papers. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is May 11.
