IMPHAL, May 2: Taking into account the scarcity of petrol in the State, the All Manipur Students Union General Secretary Manjeet Sarangthem has warned to launch a drive against oil pumps if in case the government fails to take any action in this regard by Monday.

Speaking at a press conference held today at their DM College Campus office, he said the student body has received information that the IOC had already distributed 1,63,700 litres of petrol to different oil pumps during the period from April 20 to May.

However, only government officials are allowed to get petrol whereas the general public has been left on their own, he said.

He continued that the AMSU suspects that the pump owners are promoting black marketing of petrol.
