THOUBAL, May 4: Dissatisfied with the choice of candidates for the forthcoming Autonomous District Council election in the State, three executive members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chandel district including its working president have tendered resignation from their respective posts and party`™s membership today.
Speaking to media persons at the party`™s district office located at Kanankhu Village in Chandel district, working president Tonsing Willingson Anal said that BJP has been existing in Chandel district since a long time back, although no one were aware of its existence for long.
`The party gained popularity only since the last parliamentary election due to the collective effort and hard work of the present executive members under my leadership` he said.
Expressing diss-atisfaction with the manner party tickets were issued for the election in the district, Tongsin charged that the party`™s State president and general secretary have allotted tickets to members who have joined the party only recently.
They have ignored all the contributions of the active members who have worked for the party for so many years, he added.
He said, he had joined the party believing in the party`™s principle of `Development for all, Equal development` and Narendra Modi`™s vision for good governance had inspired him.
However, these principles and vision of good governance of BJP can`™t be achieved under the leadership of the party`™s State president Th Chaoba and general secretary Ashnikumar, he claimed.
`As such, I tender my resignation from the party`™s membership and from the post of working president of the district,` added Tongsin.
BJP, Chandel district, Scheduled Tribe Morch secretary Dy Holngam, BJP Chandel executive member KT Hari and BJP Manipur Pradesh, Kishan Morcha vice president Ts Beton Anal have also confirmed before the media persons regarding their resignation from their respective posts and party membership today.
BJP Chandel vice president Ts Konal Anal who also attended the press briefing said it is unfortunate for the party workers that the State president and general secretary have allotted election tickets to new members without any consideration of the recommendations of the district, mandals and morchas.
Raising doubts on the credibility of the president Chaoba and general secretary Ashnikumar, Ts Konal questioned how they could allot tickets to new members who had not worked for the party for even a single day.
Contrary to the hard work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove corruption from the country, the incumbent leaders of the BJP, Manipur Pradesh have indulged in corruption while allotting party tickets for the upcoming election, he alleged.
The district`™s vice president has also warned that party worker including all executive members of the district will resign en-mass, if the incumbent State president and general secretary do not apologise within two-days.
