DC Senapati exhorts student to avoid `inferiority complex` in their approach

KANGPOKPI, May 24: Young learners must have confidence in oneself and should not have `inferiority complex`™ in their approach, exhorted Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati and called upon the students to have a conscious choice and be humble oneself to be crafted and molded by teachers and guardians.

The IAS officer was speaking at a distribution function of the 17th Maj Pagin Kipgen Foundation, A Charitable Trust Meritorious Award of HSLC Examination, 2015 at Emmanuel School, Haipi village in Sadar Hills today wherein she graced the occasion as chief guest while Harry S. Kipgen, Retd. AGM, SBI Gauhati and Thangminlen Kipgen, ex-MLA attended as president and host respectively.

`When I was in class VIII and IX I had decided to become an IAS officer and managed to achieve it through hard work with good ranking in 2005`, the lady Deputy Commissioner inspired the students with her own story while adding that without determination and hard work even an undersized dream is impossible to achieve.

She also pointed out that the less pass percentage result of HSLC in Senapati district this year shows that the students need to work hard and pursue for one`™s career while adding that it not necessary for a student to pursue only in one career but diversify and excel in other fields including in the field of sports and games.

Speaking well of Late Major Pagin Kipgen dream for the student community in the society and his family members who have work out it into reality, Jacintha Lazarus conceded that Late Maj Pagin Kipgen is a true inspiration for the students who had chose a big career though he is from a poor background.

The DC also had an interaction with the students after the award distribution where most of the students shared their dream of becoming IAS, IPS officer.

The meritorious award has been organized annually by Maj. Pagin Kipgen Foundation, A Charitable Trust as a part of its endeavor to bring quality education and to encourage the young learners of Sadar Hills District since 1999. A total of 381 students had already been conferred the award including this year awardees.

For the year 2015, fourteen students were awarded the 17th Major Pagin Kipgen Meritorious Award including three state level subject toppers.

The awardees are Sanjeev Bastola, Emmanuel School Haipi (79%); Kaiminthang Khangsai, Elite Hr. Sec School, Kangpokpi (76%); Khrisna Prathak, Keithelmanbi H/School (74.8%); Jamgoulal Lunkim, Diamond Eng. H/S, Kangpokpi (73.8%); Bishal Giri, Diamond Eng. H/S, Kangpokpi (72.6%); Ngulgouhao Timothy Kipgen, Elite Hr. Sec School, Kangpokpi (72.4%); Haideikim Singsit, Highland Academy, Keithelmanbi (70%); Ngahhouithem Kipgen, Emmanuel School, Haipi (69.4%); Naomi Guite, Kangpokpi Mission H/S (69%), and Lamgungin Hangshing,P.M.A. Kangpokpi (68.4%).

State Level Subject toppers are Sachin Khatiwada, Gorkha Aided H/S Kalapahar (96 % in Nepali); Sanjeev Bastola, Emmanuel School Haipi (96% in Nepali) and Narendra Pradhan, Pre Sainik School, Keithelmanbi (81% in Commerce).
