IMPHAL, May 26: The General Administration Department (Records and Library Section) Secretariat, has informed that the Governor of Manipur has announced that all government offices, educational institutes located in Chandel, Churachandpur, Sadar Hills, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul Autonomous districts will remain closed on June 1 on account of Autonomous District Council Elections.
A press release of the Secretariat has said that all banks/Financial Institutions located within the said autonomous districts will also remain closed on the day.
It further ordered that to enable them to exercise their franchise, government employees/Bank employees/employees of Private Sector undertakings, etc., who are electors/voters of the said Autonomous District Councils but serving elsewhere are allowed to avail Special Casual Leave on June 1, it said.
