Imphal-Moreh road indefinite bandh called off temporarily

IMPHAL, May 4: The indefinite bandh imposed jointly by All Tribal Blind Association Chandel District and Students`™ Union of Mission Blind School Heikakpokpi along Imphal-Moreh road on National Highway-102 with effect from 5 am of today demanding upgradation of Mission Blind School Heikakpokpi to a full-fledged one, has been suspended temporarily following an agreement reached with the government.

According to secretary of All Tribal Blind Association Chandel District, K Pareng Kom who is also the principal of Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi; the agreement was reached during a meeting held between representatives of the two bodies and Education minister M Okendro including MLA of 42 Tengnoupal Constituency D Korungthang at the office of the Minister.

Earlier, the bandh supporters blocked road at Boungyang area affecting vehicular movement along Imphal-Moreh road. Many vehicles coming from Moreh were stranded due to the road blocked.
