IMPHAL, May 29: The PRO Police department has clarified in a press release that the Escort Commander, M. Shanta of the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly who was involved in the alleged assault on Sub-Inspector, A. Amitabh Singh of Imphal West District Police is still under suspension w.e.f. May 12 and he is not detailed for any duties since then.
He is confined to the rear Head Quarter of 8th Manipur Rifles, Imphal, it said.
