IMPHAL, May 27: The United NGOs Mission-Manipur (UNM-M) has condemned the attack on a police officer, Arambam Amitabh, 35 by escort of Speaker of Manipur on the night of May 10 near Kangla gate.
According to a release of the UNM-M, the attack occurred in the presence of the wife and children.
The UNM-M has appealed to the Speaker and the Chief Minister not to repeat such kind of inhuman treatment to the citizen. The association has also urged the government to systematically investigate the Chain of Command of the attack to the SI by the security forces on that day. It also demanded the guards accused in the crime to be brought to court for proper legal procedure and to punish them according to the rule of law at the earliest, it said.
