BJP to decide District Council alliance today

IMPHAL, June 15: The BJP, Manipur Pradesh will decide tomorrow on whether to form alliance with other parties and gain power in the six District Councils in the State.

According to a inside sources of the party, the decision will be taken on June 16 evening during a meeting of the party which will be attended by its leaders and elected members of the just completed ADC election.

The party`™s State president Th Chaoba had chaired a meeting convened yesterday on the issue in the presence of Tapir Gao, BJP national secretary and other office bearers.

A similar meeting was also convened today at the party office, the source said.

The office bearers and the core committee members of the party convened today`™s meeting from 3pm to 5:30pm and discussed the matter and decided to meet again tomorrow, according to the source.

It is also learnt that the 21 elected members of the party will attend tomorrow`™s meeting and the decision will be declared only after the meeting.

In this same regard, an eight-member team of the party led by its president Th Chaoba will leave for the national capital on June 17 and take `advice`™ from central leaders of the party including national president Amit Shah, according to the source.

At the same time, the BJP is surprised over the fact that the ADC election results were declared on June 11morning, however, the Congress government has continued to remain silent for long on the formation of the ADCs, the source declared.

The newly elected members of the party will however work for the welfare of the hill people with the consent of the Union Minister and the Centre, it said.

The BJP also expressed gratitude to the people of the hills for supporting the party.
