CCpur Reporters` Association conducts legal awareness campaign

LAMKA, June 28: A legal awareness campaign on social and legal aspect was held today at New Bolzang Village, Churachandpur organised by the Churachandpur Reporters`™ Association which is a group of Lamka based electronic and print media persons in collaboration with the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Churachandpur.

The programme was attended by District Council member Khaipau Haokip as chief guest and Kuki Khanglai Lompi general headquarter president Kamthang Haokip as guest of honour.

MDC CT Lian Guite and advocate Goulen Haokip spoke as resource persons.

Lian Guite said people should not make random friends on the internet or believe claims of gifts and winning lotteries made over the phone from unknown persons, mobile numbers or email addresses.

He said it is easy to become a cyber crime victim people should be careful.

Stressing further on the importance of proper use of technology, he said it could even lead to loss of lives.

Goulen said people should not be afraid of approaching the law enforcing agencies so that actions could be taken in case of any crime being committed.

Today`™s programme was attended by around 200 locals who were mostly youngsters.

CRA chairman Biak TOnsing said the campaign was organised in collaboration with the office of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Churachandpur and with support from the DC and 7 AR.
