IMPHAL, June 2: The Village Authority of Sandangsenba resented the June 1 scuffle that broke out between Sandangsenba and Phunal Maring village during the poll hour of the ADC election yesterday, and has appealed to the villagers on both sides to refrain from resorting to unwanted behaviours.

Speaking to media at a press conference at Manipur Press Club, the chairman of the Village Authority of Sandangsenba, KT Mothil said that the standoff took place at the Sandangsenba polling station as a result of misunderstanding between Congress and BJP workers inside the polling station which later escalated into violence.

Winners or losers, both the villages should shed their differences keeping in mind the mutual understanding and age old bond binding the two villages together and refrain from creating any untoward incidents on the election issue again.

He also appealed to both the villages to instead work towards strengthening the peace and tranquillity in the region and should not hold any grudge against each other.
