LAMKA, July 12: Residents of Meitei Leikai, Churachandpur led by meira paibis carried out a torch rally in the locality this evening supporting the ILPS demand.
The rally attended by more than 500 people, was organised by the Ccpur Meitei Leikai Youth Club and the Meira Paibis of Ccpur.
They further denounced the death of student Sapam Robinhood in police firing during a rally on ILPS.
It is in the interest of the State to have a stringent mechanism to check the rampant influx of outsiders into the State, they said.
The demonstrators also shouted demands for implementation of the ILPS, and further condemned the killing of the student. They also demanded that the police responsible for the death of the student should be punished.
