State BJP team meets Rajnath Singh on State issues

IMPHAL, July 31: A team of the BJP Manipur unit led by its president Th Chaoba Singh, met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today and apprised him of the prevailing situation of the State.

The BJP president was accompanied by general secretary Asnikumar Singh, and two other members.

The team reportedly met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his 17 Akbar Rd residence New Delhi.

It is learnt that during the meeting the State BJP delegates apprised the Home Minister of the prevailing law and order situation in the aftermath of the death of 16-year old school going student (L) Sapam Robinhood whose body is still lying unclaimed in the mortuary since July 8.

The Union Minister was also reportedly informed of the mass public protest in the State in demand of the Inner Line Permit System of a similar legislation in Manipur and subsequent closure all education institutions by the state Government without any time limit raising serious concern for one and all.

Sources said that the Union home minister was shocked after hearing the present situation in the State and he assured all possible help from the Centre in the best interest of the people and the State.

Later, the delegates also met Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitely at 12:15 today at his Parliament House Office and discussed some important issues of Manipur.
