Will repair Uripok Road affected by Imphal Sewerage project after Assembly session, says Hemochandra

IMPHAL, July 7: PHE minister I Hemochandra assured to repair the Uripok road affected by the laying of sewerage pipes after the Assembly session.

He said he will conduct an inspection of the road along with PWD officials.

Hemochandra said the Imphal Sewarage project is targeted to be completed by March 2016.

He was replying to a question raised by Uripok MLA L Nandakumar during Question Hour today.

Forest minister Th Devendra Singh replying to a question raised by Hiyanglam MLA E Dwijamani, said there is no plan to turn Phumlen Pat as the second home of Sangai.

He also assured to consider turning the lake into a fishery lake.

Education minister M Okendro said the department of Higher and Technical Euducation has already issued a `No objection`™ certificate to the proposal for establishment of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (IETE) University of Technology through up-gradation of the existing centre at Imphal.

He was replying to a question from MLA L Ibomcha.

Okendro said the IETE has been advice to furnish all details of its proposal and have a detailed discussion with the department on its plan including physical infrastructure and financial investment it proposes to make in the State.

He said a reply from the IETE is still awaited as it is yet to furnish any condition proposal t the department till date.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister Francis Ngajokpa said the minus bid applied in the e-tendering for Phases IX and X of PMGSY scheme which is deposited with the SBI for the purpose of maintaining quality control of the roads constructed has been submitted to the Centre for approval.

He was replying to a question of MLA Th Shyamkumar.

Further in his reply, he said around 171 works have been undertaken in phase IX under the minus bid plan and around 113 works have been rewarded under Phase X.

Works yet to be started under phase IX is eight and under phase X is 54 whereas the number of tenders under phase X is 127, he said.

The minister also said that the total amount of unused funds due to minus bid which is deposited with the SBI is Rs 170.05 crore, which the Centre is yet to release.
