Central team to assess flood damage in State

IMPHAL, Aug 26: A three-member team of senior Central officials will be reaching Imphal tomorrow to assess the damage caused by the recent flood in the State, informed a reliable source.

The source added the team will assess the flood damages in Chandel and Thoubal districts.

During the recent flood in the State, bridges had collapsed, roads were damaged, telecom lines cut, paddy fields inundated. However, reconstruction process has already been initiated under both the State and Central disaster relief funds.

It may be mentioned that a team of the BJP Manipur Pradesh led their president Th Chaoba had requested Union Minister of Surface Road and Transport Highways Nitin Gadkari to intervene in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process following the flood.
