`Drafting Committee has submitted draft bill`

IMPHAL, August 4: On the present Inner Line Permit System issue, the Chief Minister said the government constituted drafting committee has submitted its draft bill along with suggestions from legal experts like the Bar association and council.

Drawing the attention of the leaders spearheading the movement demanding implementation of the ILPS or a similar legislation in the State, he reiterated that the government`™s door is open for talks.

Further expressing the intention of the Government to sincerely resolved the ongoing impasse, he revealed that the Assembly is put on prorogue mode so that an immediate session could be summoned anytime once a draft bill gets a consensus from all stakeholders.

The Chief Minister further clarified that since the JCILPS issued its five demands during a public consultation at Shumang Leela Shanglen, the government has been analyzing the points.

The need of the hour is to sit together for a thread bare discussion between both sides on the feasibilities of their demands under the frame work of the Indian Constitution, continued Ibobi.
