IMPHAL, Aug 25: In an unfortunate incident, a drinking party between friends ended with one of them using an axe to kill his friend yesterday at Kumbiyan Ching in Tengdongyan under Sekmai Police Station under Imphal West district.
The gruesome incident occurred around 8pm yesterday.
60-year old Ngangbam Ibungo Meitei of Kanto Sabal Leikai and presently staying at the Potshangbam Chingol Water Supply was partying with some of his friends when they entered into a verbal feud.
The verbal feud soon turned into a fist fight which ended when one of his friends attacked him with an axe.
He suffered injuries on his head, neck and chest, and died on the spot.
The concern police have arrested one of those involved in the crime and a case has been registered in it.
The body has been handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted at the RIMS morgue.
