Two more prosecution witnesses testify in Meghen case

IMPHAL, August 19: In connection with the ongoing trial against Chairman of the banned United National Liberation Front (UNLF) RK Meghen alias Sanayaima and several other top leaders of the outfit in the Special Court of National Investigation Agency (NIA) Guwahati, deposition of two prosecution witnesses of the case was taken today.

The two prosecution witnesses are identified as Ashim Srivastava, Superintendent of Police of NIA and Suresh Kumar, official of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) based in New Delhi. He is the prosecution witness no 81 of the case.

Ashim Srivastava who is the prosecution witness no 80 had deposed before the court yesterday. He was further cross examined by counsels of the accused during his deposition today.

Along with taking deposition of the two prosecution witnesses, RK Meghen and other leaders of the outfit, who are under judicial custody, were produced before the court today amidst tight security.

They are facing trial in the court based on the charge sheets framed by NIA against them.
