IMPHAL, Sept 4: Six security personnel were injured when their vehicle skidded and fell into a gorge in Tamenglong today.
Sources said a convoy of the 14 Sikh Regiment was coming towards Imphal from the Octan Village post in Tamenglong, when one of the vehicles fell into a deep gorge along an Inter Village Road connecting Haochong and Nungtek villages.
It is also learnt that the convoy was bringing the body of one of their personnel who died yesterday due to a cardiac arrest to Imphal passing through Nungba.
The injured personnel were administered first aid at the 6 Assam Rifles Unit Hospital and later shifted to the Leimakhong Military Hospital for further treatment.
