AMBA seeks reduction in eligibility cut off for MJS posts

IMPHAL, September 4: The All Manipur Bar Association today convened its extended executive body meeting in connection with process for the recruitment for three posts of the Manipur Judicial Service Grade I today.

Sources informed that the meeting was held at the Uripok Cheirap Court complex office of the association.

The meeting which commenced from 1:30pm was chaired by the association president senior advocate H Chandrajit Sharma.

It is also learnt that during the meeting, the association observed that all three posts are un-reserved seats. The present cut off for eligibility is 50 percent marks in the written test for ST/SC candidates and 60 percent for General candidates, which is different from the accepted norm in other States and as such the meeting resolved to submit memorandums to the authorities concern to cut down the cut-off marks to 45 percent for SC/ST and 55 percent for General candidates.

The meeting also resolved that the general secretary of AMBA will submit memorandums to this effect to the State Chief Minister, Law minister and the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur LK Mohapatra.
