IMPHAL, Sept 6: The Committee for Formation of ADC Tamenglong has lifted the indefinite ban against Central and State projects including railway project in the district from today.
The indefinite imposition was clamped by the committee from August 22 in protest against the non formation of ADC Tamenglong even after holding its election and declaring the results long time back.
Reports received by this daily said the imposition was lifted following submission of a written statement to the Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong by the government yesterday wherein it assured that works relating to formation of ADC in the district will be done on September 9.
It may be mentioned that in the recently concluded ADC Election as for Tamenglong district, ten candidates from Congress, eight from NPF, five from BJP and one Independent candidate were elected.
After one member each from Congress and Independent joined the Democratic Alliance of Tamenglong jointly formed by NPF and BJP, the number of member of Congress was reduced to nine though the total number of member of the alliance was increased to 15.
