BJP Manipur leaders resolve to stay united against Congress

IMPHAL, October 9: The BJP Manipur Pradesh during its last State executive meeting for the term 2012-15 has unanimously resolved to be united and fight the Congress in the next general election.

The party`™s State executive meeting held today at the Imphal Hotel was also attended by national general secretary Ram Madhop and BJP ST Morcha president Faggan Singh Kulaste.

During the meeting today, all the leaders who had been disunited came together and resolved to be united and work only for the interest of the people of the State, according to a party insider.

The party leaders also discussed the prolonged 13 years of Congress`™ `misrule`™ in the State under Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh citing the Loktak Lake multi-crore scam, scandal in Irrigation Sector as well as the State government`™s failure to maintain peace and order in the State.

During the meeting, the party leaders also reaffirmed its September 6 decision to revoke suspension and expulsion of some party leaders and accept them as primary members again, informed the source.

It was also resolved to highlight the plights of the people to the government.

According to a leader of the party, the meeting discussed the `Multi crore Loktak Lake scam regarding the alleged selection of Hyderabad based Progressive Construction Ltd (2008) on trial basis and awarding the Rs 224 crores project to K-Pro Infra Works Privated Limited a Delhi Based company established only in 2009`™ for clearing of phumdis.

The Chief Minister being the chairman of the LDA, among others should be held accountable for the scam, he said.

The BJP will urge the Central government for immediate investigation by independent agencies like SIT and CBI into the scandals, he added.

It was also resolved during the meeting that, the party will launch the cleaning of Nambul River and save Loktak Lake campaigns, he added.

He said during the meeting, the leaders resolved to appeal to Union Minister of Water Resources Uma Bharti to provide aid in the cleaning exercise of the Nambul River.

The party also decided to fight the upcoming bye-elections in Thangmeiband and Thongju.
