IMPHAL, Oct 30: Atleast two civilians were reportedly injured in police firing during a dice game at Khurai Salanthong Salan Leirak today.
According to reliable sources, the incident occurred around 8.45 pm and the injured have been identified as Chanamthabam Tomba, 56, son of (L) Yaima and Laishram Dondon, 25, son of Rabi of Leirikyengbam Leikai.
The same sources said that a team of Heingang police came on a pick-up truck (Tata DI) and in an attempt to disperse the dice game reportedly fired indiscriminately (14-15 rounds) at the crowd injuring the two civilians.
The injured have been evacuated to Raj Medicity.
