AJWJU extends gratitude to its founder on winning international award

IMPHAL, Nov 25: The All Jiribam Working Journalist Union (AJWJU), has extended its gratitude to founder president of AJWJU’s Laisangthem Veerjeet Singh, on winning the India-Sri Lanka Friendship Internation Award-2015.

In a statement, the AJWJU said that the award was handed over to Laisangthem Veerjeet Singh, by State Education Minister Government of Sri Lanka, Radha Krishnan, during an official ceremony held on November 17 at the auditorium of Mahawelli Centre.

It said the founder of the AJWJU was conferred with the international award for his philanthropic work.

During his heydays he once held key post in several civil-organisations like the AMSU Head Quarter, Committee on Human Rifhts (COHR), North East Committee on Human Rights (NECOHR, All Jiribam United Clubs Association besides being the editor of Jila Dabar weekly newspaper, it said.

Laisangthem Veerjeet Singh, is currently serving as an admission officer at the Shri Venkatesera College of Engineering and Technology, Chittor, Andhra Pradesh.

The AJWJU hoped that the Laisangthem Veerjeet Singh, will continue with his philanthropic work in the future too.
