IMPHAL, Nov 24: 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has established an Assam Rifles pavilion in the ongoing Sangai Festival 2015, for enhancing awareness about the force among local populace.
According to a release of PRO IGAR (South), the pavilion showcases the history and contribution of gallant soldiers of Assam Rifles in Manipur. Being the oldest Para Military force of the nation, Assam Rifles has been assigned with dual role of internal security as well as border guarding along Indo-Myanmar border.
The Force has also been executing numerous civic action and development activities in the State.
