IMPHAL, November 15: 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Ningol Chakouba festival at Singjamei post on November 13, said a press release by PRO, IGAR (South).
It said, on the day, married sisters and daughters were invited to parental house for the grand festival, and 30 women of Singjamei Chinga Nupi Lup clad in traditional attire attended the event with their children.
The celebration was an act to make a good platform for increasing mutual trust and confidence between the Assam Rifles and civil population, said the press release.
It said, the women who attended the celebration were served with lunch and presented gifts, followed by extending CSD facilities, and the event was appreciated by all the nearby locals around Singjamei post.
