BJP Thongju demands action on UNACCO violence

IMPHAL, November 30: Demanding immediate action against the perpetrators who allegedly attacked the victory rally of Thongju MLA Th Bishwajit using guns and other weapons on November 24, the Thongju Mandal of the BJP Manipur has threatened to launch several types of agitations soon.

Post poll violence at the UNACCO School on November 24 while the bye-election successful BJP candidate was coming in a rally had left eight injured.

A press release of the mandal president, while claiming, the attack to be an assassination bid on the successful candidate, has demanded immediate action against those involved.

The statement claimed that hired staff of the UNACCO had stormed towards the BJP workers rally on the day of the incident.

Demanding the Congress government and the concerned authorities to book the accused at the earliest, he warned that failure to do so will lead to serious agitations.

Alleging the Khongman Development Committee of trying to spread wrong information regarding the incident trying to malign the MLA, he has further demanded clarification from the committee.

He further said that since, a case has been registered regarding the incident, justice will soon be delivered.
