IMPHAL, Nov 25: The Excise Department led by Imphal East nodal officer C Raikhan disposed bottled and local liquor at its office campus at Lamphel today.
The department in accordance with the Election Code of Conduct raided several area of Imphal East Thongju constituency and seized 355 litres of local liquor and 24 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from various areas.
The drive was conducted by 22 personnel of the department led by 3 inspectors during the election timing. An amount of Rs 53, 700 was fined from the bootleggers and the sum has been handed over to the Revenue Department and 37 cases have been registered.
