IMPHAL, Nov 28: Admitting that there is an apparent division between the larger and smaller communities which has affected peace and harmony in the State, the Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) has categorically stated that any larger community has no right to undermine religion, customs and culture of a smaller community.

In a statement, HERICOUN maintained that there will be no peaceful co-existence in the State if suppression and division exist amongst the different communities.

It called upon the people belonging to different communities to shun sense of superiority instead work together for the sake of development of the State.

HERICOUN in the statement also expressed concern on the reports published in local media that Aimol tribe will be merged with a larger community, leaving behind its culture and customs.
