IMPHAL, Nov 24: Lamlen Evergreen Club, Babupara, Jiribam has submitted a memorandum to the Director of Postal Service, Manipur requesting for opening a Speed Post Service Centre at Jiribam Post Office at the earliest.
The memorandum stated that Jiribam is a Sub-Divisional Head Quarter within Imphal East District, which is 222 km far away from the District Head Quarter, Imphal East.
However, there is only Post Office at Jiribam, but there is no Speed Post service till date. The people of Jiribam are suffering a lot for speed post service due to unavailability of Speed Post facilities at Jiribam Post Office, it lamented.
Saying that the total population of Jiribam is above 45, 000, the memorandum pointed out that some of part of Churachandpur and Tamenglong district are also depending at Jiribam for their livelihood.
