AR JCO dies of BP stroke during accident rescue bid

IMPHAL, December 28: In an unfortunate incident, a Junior Commission Officer (JCO) of 3 Assam Rifles who went to rescue accident victims along with other personnel died of BP stroke on seeing the critical conditions of the injured accident victims.

The incident took place along an Inter Village Road near the Selon AR post in Chandel district on December 27 noon.

The deceased JCO has been identified as Baldev Singh, 53 from Himachal Pradesh.

Reports said a team of AR including Baldev rushed to the accident site on hearing the news that several occupants of a vehicle had been injured in the road mishap.

Suddenly, on seeing the critical condition of the accident victims, the JCO suffered a BP stroke and fainted on the ground.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment but died on the way.

The mortal remains of the JCO, has been sent back to his hometown after performing post mortem examination at JNIMS morgue today, the report stated.
