Child rights team visits Ccpur Home on fact-finding mission on rape case

CCPUR, December 2: A combined team of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Manipur Alliance for Child Rights visited a children’s home in the district today for a spot assessment regarding a rape case.

The State commission’s four member team was led by chairperson Sarat Sharma and the seven member team of the MACR was led by its convenor Montu Ahanthem.

The MCPCR was strongly directed by the NCPCR, Delhi to intervene in the case in which the home’s administrator is an accused.

It is also learnt that the team had inspected the facilities and norms provided in the home and also met the caretaker of the home.

The team is also said to have collected some documents from the IO of the case and met with the SP. The team had also met women activists in regard to the case.
