IMPHAL, December 26: Demanding RIMS to publish the particulars of shortlisted candidates of its recent Nurses recruitment test, the Clean Politics Mission claimed it would be a better option for the interim director of RIMS Prof Sanjembam Rita Devi, instead of wasting so much public money on ‘clarification’ to preserve her ‘clean’ image.

A press release of the organisation issued in the name of co-convenor Yambem Laba and convenor Chongtham Bijoy Singh has said “Professor Sanjembam Rita Devi, the interim director of RIMS has come out with a tissue of lies to cover up a lie.”

It elaborated further that the interim director in her December 19 press release had spun a long explanation as to why the question papers were kept at the airport for one night.

The press release said “It is nothing but falsehood,” and explained further “The fact is that the consignee gave a wrong name and wrong phone number.”

It continued, Dr Sanjembam Rita has admitted the existence of the 20th package in her clarification on December 23 which she said contained ‘sealed keys’, but on December 11, another small pack had arrived by flight no 6E251 and the consignment note no. was 29411701 and the consignee is Dr Ak Joy Singh. If the keys and other related materials were in the 20th package, what was in the small package which arrived on December 11, it questioned.

The Clean Politics Mission continued that in her notice dated December 19 in a local vernacular, in the fifth para, Dr Rita asserted that ‘Dean of Academics, RIMS Dr Ak Joy is not in the committee of the selection of the staff nurses…?, how is it possible when all examination materials were sent to him in his name.

It continued regarding paragraph no. 4 of the same clarification (dated December 23), a criminal is investigated, caught and punished only after the crime is committed. Likewise complain of question leakage is confirmed only after the examination is over.

“Regarding the much asked source of the question leakage, an organisation named ‘Liberation’ had squarely put the blame on the deputy director of RIMS according to a newspaper report on December 22. It will be most appropriate if prof Rita had put him under interrogation and find out the truth.”
