IMPHAL, December 10: Offices under the Department of Art & Culture will purchase books worth Rs 15 lakhs from the upcoming Imphal Book Fair, 2015, said Chief Librarian, State Central Library, Imphal E Latakishwar Singh during a press meet held today at his office chamber.
He maintained that as conducted annually, State Central Library; Department of Art & Culture in collaboration with Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata will conduct Imphal Book Fair 2015 from December 15 to 24 at Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) Ground, Imphal West.
There is an expectation to have at least 50 book stalls in the upcoming 24th edition of Imphal Book Fair, he said, informing that as of now 25 firms from outside the State have already confirmed participation in the fair.
He announced that there will be 15 percent discount on books in major book stalls and 10 percent discount in small vendors in the fair apart from decreasing the amount of occupying stall in the book fair to Rs 4000 from Rs 5000.
He appealed to all concerned to not impose bandh and blockade during the book fair to make it a grand success.
