PM has assured to look into corrupt practices: Joy

IMPHAL, December 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured to take up all necessary steps against the corrupt administration of the present government in the State, politician Joy who recently joined the BJP told IFP over the phone from New Delhi today.

Joy had joined the BJP Manipur ahead of the bye election of Thangmeiband and Thongju assembly constituencies.

He said he along with BJP MLA from Thongju Th Bishwajit Singh had met with the Prime Minister around 12:20pm at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Parliament House Complex.

The meeting was also attended by BJP Manipur in charge Prahlad Patel.

Joy said he had urged the Prime Minister to take up the necessary actions to develop the lifelines of Manipur Imphal-Dimapur Highway and the Imphal-Jiribam Highway at the earliest and to make it safe for people to commute day and night along the highways.

He said he had also apprised the Prime Minister on the difficulties faced by the people along the highways.

Secondly, he said he also urged the PM to check the corrupt administration under the present government in the State to bring a more honest and effective government and to punish the corrupt.

He said he had also urged the Prime Minister to expedite taking up steps under the Act East policy formerly known as the Look East Policy.

Joy also informed that he will put his best effort in campaigning for the party in the Nagar Panchayat and Municipal Council Elections to be held in the second week of January next year and that he will campaign for the next year Assam General Assembly election.
