IMPHAL, Dec 21: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today said that the cause for the collapse of the Awang Sekmai Dam during the month of July 2015 was the flood in the same month.
The Chief Minister was replying to a starred question from Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan Singh.
Joykishan continued his question asking whether any action had been taken by the government against the contractor at which the CM replied that the department has asked the contractor to reconstruct the damaged portion of the dam and that the source of fund for the Dam was the NEC which is a total of Rs 1.95 crore.
