IMPHAL, December 20: Thangmeiband MLA, Khumukcham Joykishan today challenged Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and his government that the Sewerage Project will not be successful in Thangmeiband area for the project is implemented with the intention of the powers that be minting money.

The Thangmeiband MLA asserted this during the felicitation function organized by 9/33 Booth Committee ward no.3, 9 Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency at Lamabam Leikai.

He continued that a part of the so called ‘Pilot Project’ reduced the RIMS road to a nightmare and took 10 years to restore the road stretch, questioning as to how long will the project take to complete in the Thangmeiband constituency?

The MLA said that he is doubtful that the project will be a successful one in his constituency.

He charged the government that the idea of bringing the Sewage Project is to demolish Thangmeiband constituency and questioned the Chief Minister why he did not consider to implement the project in his constituency when he had the lion’s share when it comes to development?

He opined that the government was never serious of the project as it never considered overseeing the quality and standard of the project since the beginning.

Even though the roads in Thangmeiband constituency are in a pathetic condition, the government never considered repairing it despite the fact that it lies within the zero mile radius of the Imphal city, he said.

Joykishan further said that since he became the MLA of Thangmeiband he had developed the road several time regardless of the odds yet it is constantly tore apart in the name of development.

Joykishan promised the gathering that he would tirelessly work to develop Thangmeiband constituency until he in power.

The result of the recently conducted by-election in Thangmeiband and Thongju Assembly constituency was a clear message from the public to the Ibobi led congress Government to discontinue the tyranny, maintained Joykishan.

He expressed his confidence that the BJP will overthrow the congress in the upcoming general election scheduled to be held in 2017 adding that appealed the public to support BJP candidates to bring good governance in Manipur.
