Manipur University signs collaboration MoU with Surindra Rajabhat University, Thailand

IMPHAL, Jan 22: Manipur University has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Surindra Rajabhat University, Surin Province, Kingdom of Thailand on January 20 with a view towards promoting cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.

While vice chancellor Prof H Nandakumar Sharma signed the document on behalf of Manipur University, Surindra Rajabhat University president Prof Dr Achara Phanurat signed on behalf of the Thailand university.

The signing of the MoU happened in Bangkok.

The MoU reflected the scope of cooperation between the two countries and will be subjected to mutual consent and the area of cooperation will include any programme offered by either institution, as felt desirable and feasible on either side that contributes to fostering and development of the cooperative relationship between the two institutions, informed a source.

It is also learnt that the MoU will encourage cooperation by exchange of academic scholars and representatives, based on the principles of mutual equability and reciprocity of benefit.

The institutions will also seek cooperation in doing research on topics of interest together besides endeavoring to establish joint initiatives to promote cultural exchange of culture between the two countries.

The MoU will be effective from the date of signing and either institution may terminate this agreement at any time by giving three months prior notice to the other in writing, informed the source.

The agreement will be governed by the law of the Kingdom of Thailand and Republic of India and all the agreements and obligations of the parties set forth herein are subject to applicable government consents.
