Police raid ITBS office

IMPHAL, Jan 20: Receiving information of a group of persons deceiving the innocent public by false promise of jobs, a team of Lamphel Police Station conducted a search operation at the office of Information Technology and Broadcasting Service Ltd (ITBS) at Sangaiparou and arrested four persons with incriminating documents today.

Superintendent of Police, Imphal West said in a press release that these persons claimed ITBS to be under the Department of Ministry of Broadcasting and Information Technology, Government of India and duped about 2000 aspiring candidates by taking huge amount of money by promising jobs in their organisation.

The group advertised in local dailies and even conducted DPC. They rented many office buildings and also paid honorarium to some of their ‘employees’ to make their organisation appear genuine, thus they befooled the public, it added.
