An IED suspected bomb found planted at Motbung

KANGPOKPI, February 17: A bomb suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found planted near the main entry gate of Presidency College, Motbung at around 7:30 pm this evening.

The location where the bomb was planted is near to the National Highway while the main road of Presidency College, Motbung which also leads to the 25 AR Motbung Post is passing near at the spot.

Vehicular movement along the highway has been halt while the areas near to the location have been sealed by security personnel as a safety measures.

According to police source, bomb squad and expert were called from the state capital Imphal to monitor the situation.

Until filing of this report no other details could be ascertained yet.

Mentioned may be made that, around three years back an IED which was planted near Sapormeina bridge by an unidentified miscreants in an abandon van exploded but no one was hurt in the incident.

This is the second time an IED bomb was found planted in area which inflame intense apprehension among the entire populace of the areas.
