Christian community performs prayer service for BJP success

IMPHAL, February 7: In connection with the upcoming general election in the State, Christian community performed prayer service for success of BJP party in the election at Noney Part-III, Tamenglong district today.

The prayer sought blessing to elect BJP representative from Nungba constituency in the Manipur Legislative Assembly election in 2017.

Local BJP leader, party state executive member Adim Pamei; general secretary (Administration) M Asnikumar; president of BJP Noney Mandal Makudinang and members of ADC Tamenglong were present at the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Adim Pamei said that development in the constituency has been neglected by the authorities concerned.

He admitted that Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who also holds the portfolio of Home and Tribal Development &Horticulture is a good leader but sidelined developmental works in the district.

Had Gaikhangam ensured welfare and development in Tamenglong, people of the district will not long for other leader, he said.

Adim Pamei said that he decided to join BJP as the party has been ensuring all round development in the district.

Claiming that bank branch and mobile towers at Noney and Nungba constituencies were established due to his efforts, he admitted that the plan to bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Nongkao village proved futile but would try to bring at Noney in future.

Asnikumar acknowledged that Tamenglong district has produced many responsible policy makers.

The leader elected by the people of Nungba constituency has misguided and misused the developmental fund and various social schemes under the Central government taken up in the district, he alleged.

He lamented that that PDS items, basic health, education, water supply and other facilities for the district have been deprived.
