BISHNUPUR, February 8: The North East Dialogue Forum along with the New Life Foundation jointly organised a consultation programme “The need of re-thinking and re-designing of the criminal justice system in Manipur” today at the Royal Academy of Law Oinam.
RAL Oinam principal I Jugeshwar Singh, LMS Law College Imphal lecturer N Pramod, High Court of Manipur advocates L Sevananda and Ravi Khan spoke at the programme as resource persons.
I Jugeshwar moderated the first session while N Pramod moderated the second session.
Delivering the key-note address, U Jenison of NEDF said there are several cases of human rights violation in the land which has raised the need to re-design the Criminal Justice System.
He said today’s programme was conducted so that the stakeholders including the police, judiciary and others could discuss the issue on a public forum.
