IMPHAL, FEB 26: The Manipur Students’ Association Delhi today urged the Central government to immediately release the arrested Jawaharlal Nehru University student leaders without any condition.

The JNU students were arrested by the police on sedition charges, MSAD president Miraj Shah Koli said.

Speaking at the Manipur Press Club, Shah said the student body also demands withdrawal of the security personnel presently deployed inside the JNU campus.

He said “JNU is not a war zone or hatred manufacturing centre; it is a unique educational learning centre.”

He further appealed to all concerned to retain normalcy in the university campus and resumed normal class.

The MSAD will fight against any injustice faced by the student community.

Meanwhile, coming to the issues of Manipur, he further demanded the government to withdraw the security personnel stationed inside the Manipur University campus.

The first phase academic awareness campaign organised by MSAD concluded at Southern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association High School, Irong on February 17.
