Ram Madhop seeks people’s support to bring development in State

IMPHAL, February 12: The BJP led NDA government in the Centre wants to bring development in Manipur, but the people should cooperate, BJP national general secretary (coordination) and in charge of the NE States Ram Madhop said at a felicitation programme of newly elected BJP councillors today.

The programme was held at Kumbi Bazar.

Madhop said the Congress is slipping and is losing to the BJP everyday in the State.

CM Ibobi’s government is like a sinking boat at the moment, he claimed.

He cited while the Congress loss a major chunk of its previous seats of 115 in the recent ADC election, the BJP which had no seat in the previous ADC win 75 seats this time.

BJP had also defeated the Congress in the bye elections of Thangmeiband and Thongju Assembly constituencies, he continued.

All these have been possible due to the hard work of the party workers, he said.

The BJP has also won many seats in the recently held Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections, he claimed.

Charging the State government of misappropriation, he said the Ibobi government in the State had beg a huge fund for the cleaning of the Loktak Lake, however, even though the money has been cleaned, the lake continues to be polluted.

He said only the BJP can help bring back Manipur on the right track and end corruption in the State.

Madhop continued the BJP workers should work under the slogan “remove Congress save Manipur.”

The BJP needs all the peoples’ support in the next eight months, he added.

Newly joined N Mangi also spoke on the occasion and said he left the Communist party and joined the BJP so as to defeat Congress.

He said in the 2017 general election, Ibobi’s government will be replaced by the BJP government who will fulfil the hopes of the Kumbi farmers for proper irrigation.

Welcoming the former Communist leader into the BJP fold, Manipur unit president of the party Th Chaoba said his party will welcome more communist in the State.

He said the BJP and the communist in the State share the same ideology.

He elaborated the communist in the State are based on the ideology of Jananeta Irabot which is different from the CPI India.

Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also following the same ideologies as Jananeta Irabot, he said adding that the PM is working for the welfare of the farmers, poor and women empowerment.

Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan said he is still challenging the Congress MLAs or minister to a debate on development on any platform.

Challenging the Kumbi MLA, Joykishan said if the State government can start construction work of the Kumbi-Moirang Road from tomorrow, he will resign from the MLA post.
