Stranded tankers arrive in Imphal

IMPHAL, February 7: With the 48-hour total bandh clamped by United Naga Council (UNC) in pursuance of its demands in the hill areas came to end yesterday midnight, around 120 stranded loaded oil tankers in Nagaland and Assam have started reaching the capital.

As usual, the stranded oil tankers were escorted by CRPF personnel up to the capital. Around 50 empty oil tankers have also left Imphal to load fuel. It is said that about 200 loaded oil tankers stranded at Khatkhati, Assam due to the bandh will be heading towards the capital tomorrow.
