IMPHAL, March 17: The Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy CM, Gaikhangam met the AICC chief, Sonia Gandhi today.

According to reliable sources, Ibobi and Gaikhangam met Sonia today around 11am followed by a meeting with AICC vice president, Rahul Gandhi.

Although, it is learnt that a final decision, which could possibly bring an end to the imbroglio within the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, was taken during the meeting, the sources nonetheless declined to confide the details on the outcome of the meeting.

In connection with the current strife, the AICC leaders have also reportedly summoned the three MPs of the State of which only one MP could meet with the AICC chief so far.

Amidst the hustles of Congress legislators to and fro to Delhi, a couple of ministers who are allegedly in the list of ministers to be sacked are also reportedly camping in the national capital.

It may be noted that the demands of the dissidents group includes reshuffle of incompetent ministers from the Ibobi led Ministry and replacing of MPCC president under the principle of ‘one man one post’.

The dissident group reportedly proposed TN Haokip, as their preferred choice for the post of MPCC president. Ibobi and Gaikhangam will be arriving in Imphal tomorrow.
